Fay Aoyagi at the reading by the Haiku Poets of Northern California

Fay Aoyagi is a haiku poet, a Japanese interpreter for computer companies in Silicon Valley, and—as you might guess from the photo above—a lively contributor to any reading or conversation in which she has a part.

Fay was born in Tokyo, Japan and immigrated to the U.S. in 1984. She has lived in San Francisco since late 1994 and started writing haiku in English in 1995. She writes haiku, tanka, and renku.

The picture shows Fay at one of the most popular events at HNA, the readings by haiku poets. The next several pictures were taken during these readings.
